I'm always looking for different ways to use up my scraps and remnants. I've altered, cut up and reconstructed a TON of t-shirts over the years, especially in your basic white and black. I whipped up this scarf using the black t-shirt remnants in my supply stash, and decided to photograph it for a quick and easy s&p DIY idea. I love quick and easy projects that help use up those leftover materials. This bracelet can be made in a matter of minutes (if not just one!) and is super easy to customize. From brass to silver, even just a touch of metal can add some dimension to a piece. With my new found adoration for hardware stores, I've been searching for ways to incorporate these elements in an interesting way. Today's project uses metal braces to create a chevron pattern on a clutch - love!

Supplies:

- Large rectangle over sized clutch

- 3" flat corner braces

(I bought mine at Home Depot. They're available in packs of 4; I used 9 total. You may use more depending on the size of your clutch)

- Strong craft glue, such as E6000

- Optional: Circular iron on studs or flat back studs, and a jewelry tweezer to handle them with.

Around here it's the time of year to layer on up, always carry an umbrella and never leave the house without some kind of headwear to keep the trestles under control. And, well, since it's the time of year to get all sparkly and such, why not extend that idea to your party hat! I have used a piece of broken jewellery and a jersey beanie making this hat super cheap to make!

Instructions:

1. Remove any excess chain, jump rings or other findings from your jewellery. 

2. Thread your needle and sew the jewellery onto the hat making sure you cover every available section.

3. Tie off the thread securely.

Take out your favorite colored leather cord, let us instruct you to make braided leather bracelet with simple braid. Loose or tight braid style is depending on which one is your preference. Anyway, please note that for a loose braid you'd better keep your cord flat as you braid, for a tight one you fold the cord over at each turn.

Here's hoping you have mostly women the make for... right, in a perfect world. Fear (k)not (ha ha ha...) tomorrow we're making one for the boys. We'll be using this Monkey Knot technique so pay attention!

1. Using dyes or watered down acrylic paints, dye metre long lengths of yarn in whatever colours you like. (I like the bright ones.)

2. Wrap the (dried) yarn around your hand three times, then wrap around the middle of these three times. (Shown above)

3. Thread the yarn around the second three strands in the middle of the original three. (whoa, getting complex now. Follow the pictures below)

 4. Starting at the top, pull the loops through to tighten the knot. Pull the loop furthest away from the end of the cord and work towards the end pulling all the cords through. 

5. Trim the ends and glue to keep them secure.

6. Spread glue onto the earring stud post and press the knot onto it for a few minutes and leave to dry.

So, if you haven't heard (from me...yesterday) I was one of the Etsy Christmas bloggers this year featured in their Advent Calendar countdown to Christmas! My DIY Marbled Christmas Crackers post was Day 2 of the countdown, and so to complete the post over the next 7 days I will be showing you a few ways to fill your crackers and make them even more special for the big day!

Instructions:

1. Thread the stud into the middle a piece of wire around 4" long.

2. Wrap the wire around the ring mandrel starting from the stud in the middle. Bend each end of the wire around the back and carry on round to the front folding them over each other. Fold a little smaller than your ring size, as the wire will expand a little. 

3. Cut the wires where they meet in the middle and pop the ends into the remaining holes in the stud.

Beanies (or bobble hats as I would usually call them) are in at the moment, probably thanks to the fashionable Cara Delevingne. There’s also no doubt faux fur is a current trend – so why not combine the two ?! I’ve been making funky faux fur pompons recently after my friend Jane from the amazing crafts workshop venue Tea and Crafting in Camden showed me how. It’s soooo simple and yet it had never crossed my mind to brush a pompom with a hairbrush – look how cool the result is ! Proper balls of fluffy fur !

To make your own fluffy faux fur pompons, YOU WILL NEED :
